About
I’m a fashion and lifestyle blogger enchanted with unicorns, dying my hair pastel colors, collecting 1980s nostalgia and My Little Ponies, and sweet style Japanese fashions like sweet lolita and fairy-kei. I’m a feminist girl who believes there’s nothing wrong with bright pink lipstick. I’m an amateur lolita model who’s worked for both American independent designers (I Do Declare) and Japanese brand houses (Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Angelic Pretty). I like to deco (a Japanese word that here means ‘encrust, cake, and smother with rhinestones’) anything that will stand still long enough.
My favorite brands include Angelic Pretty, Spank!, MILK, and buying offbeat vintage and DIY stuff on Etsy. I’ve been into lolita fashion since 2006 and my love for it is going on strong - anything with chiffon or net lace makes me swoon. I also like to wear pink denim jackets, dresses covered with stars, vintage prom dresses, and anything made of cashmere or angora. I dream about white-ink tattoos and pearly lip piercings. The best advice I ever got was to wear false eyelashes.
I’ve got a “biscuit” (biscuit is a color term specific to her breed) Pomeranian named Misu who’s got a diva streak a mile wide (the polite way to say she’s super spoiled). She gets subjected to lots of Instagram photo sessions, mostly because she’s easy to catch laying around. Here she’s got a pink ‘cookie’ from a nearby dog bakery that she did not want me to take back. Her favorite thing is to push her ball down the stairs.
I’m a Connecticut native, but most of my friends and the photos on my blog are from New York City. I love going to Chinatown to buy Asian makeup, Soho for Betsey Johnson and Tarina Tarantino, and my favorite two teahouses, The Rose House and Alice’s Teacup. My favorite pizza has gator on it!
