I know I just went off on how in love I was with Francesca Lia Block, but shortly after I discovered that she and Wildfox Couture are teaming up for a whimsical new fall line of kittens, unicorn t-shirts that have that drapy, filmy thing going on, and starry skies. Not only do I love the motifs, the photoshoot is spangled with all kinds of symbols dear to my heart: those related to Wicca and are symbols of my religion. The pentacle makes and appearance (representing earth, air, fire, water, and spirit), but also my preferred sign of the triple moon phase that represents a woman’s life (young, mature, and old, or Maiden, Mother, and Crone). Plus, there’s pastels. Ad unicorns. Did I say unicorns enough times on this blog yet?! I admit I have a few favorites in the collection (mostly unicorn stuff, big surprise), but here’s a few:
So, as much as I love lavender moth/fairy wings and the concept of this shoot, even better is that Francesca wrote a little short story for the characters of the photo shoot – or maybe they devised the shoot based on the characters written in this story. I’m not a huge Wildfox Couture fan, but reading the short story really made the shoot and fashion interpretation come alive for me. Ella, the glitzy fairy who doesn’t believe she can fly, is my favorite. (I’m particularly liking her wings since I hope to get my own soon… hint for a future shoot upcoming on the Doll!) Here’s a brief excerpt below…
I’ll be packing my bags and leaving for Acen this week! Hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze in some blogging time (and I’m sure I’ll have lots of material over the weekend!) but if not there were definitely be a full report as soon as I get back (and scrape myself off the carpet of course). While I am jetting around, I’ll most likely end up doing mobile blogging – so keep your eye on my Twitter and Instagram. I’m still looking for cute and lolita Instagrammers to follow – ‘fess up! I’ve gotten a few added to my list already! You can find me there as victoriasuzanne.
